Compared to HD600, the base is soft and good.

Extremely impressed
First of, I love these headphones. I had HD600 but they didn’t sound quite right. Lows and Highs are perfectly separated. Sound is very precise and they are perfect for classical music. I use them in a chain PC->Focusrite Scarlett Solo->Creative X3 where Scarlett is feeding 192kHz/24bt/1024 uncoloured pure sound to Creative X3 signal processor which is perfect for these headphones as it enriches the sound so I get very deep and sustainable sound. Together they recreate a sound of a 1000-2000$ analog processor. I get silky, deep sound and I can actually hear how perfectly sound is compressed without any losses.

Not my taste. The HD 600 is better.
The Sennheiser HD 600 has a neutral tone profile. It makes music sound very much like the original source, per comparisons with a wide variety of playback devices. The 600 requires the right pairing of DAC and amp to perform its best, but is very natural when you get it right. The HD 6XX has forced and elevated mid-bass. It's too much, it makes male voices sound husky, and is often distracting. The HD 6XX also has a rougher and less detailed upper frequency range than the HD 600. The HD 6XX is fine for what it is and may be better than the 600 with some setups. However, it's not my cup of tea.

Balanced sound profile, huge potential with sound sources
I had listened to my AKG K702 before buying the HD6XX. K702 has a wider soundstage and better clarity, but the 6XX has a fuller body, richer timbre and better details in the vocals. The quality is well worth its price, it's a must-have in this budget range. I upgraded my amp/dac with ifi zen 6xx signature and the dynamics improved as well. not much downside if you drive the HD6XX with good sources.

Smooth and Relaxing
Coming from a HE-400i (old version), I found the HD6XX way more comfortable both physically and sonically. The 400i were heavier and somewhat awkward getting a good fit. Clamp is high on the 6XX but everything else is more comfortable. The 400i had a nasty treble spike around 7k-8k which made listening to a lot of song unpleasant. 6XX is way smoother and lacks any harsh peaks. Mids are obviously better on the 6XX, while the 400i felt a bit withdrawn sometimes. Lastly the 400i bass dig deeper but wasn't very punchy while the 6XX was punchier but rolled off sooner. A bit of a give and take in the bass region. I felt like I always had to fiddle with my 400i to get it right as well as with EQ. 6XX felt truly plug and play in comparison.

Best dynamic headphones I have
The title says it all. I really enjoy these. I'm driving them with my Schiit Modi 3+/Magni 3+ stack, enough power for deafening volumes. Quite comfortable also.

More luxurious sound than 58X
The sharpness of the treble is reduced, and the bass is harder. It will be a good choice if you are looking for a comfortable long listening sound

It was great and I loved it
Note that I do not have much audiophile experience, but for me, these are amazing... I did hear that you need an AMP and DAC to really understand the quality... so I'm still waiting for that. But it's a solid pair of headphones.
