Probably the best headphones you can buy at $200
if you are looking for an enjoyable headphone. One that is pleasant and pleasing to listen to after a long day at work, just get a pair of these. I have had mine since the end of 2016. I was able to jump into the original drop of the HD6xx. I have bought several other headphones throughout this time and I always ended up with these. the 6xx lacks quantity in bass, but it does not lack quality. it has enough for genres like Jazz, not enough for other genres though. I am currently powering my 6xx through the Massdrop Liquid Carbon and it just such a beautiful pairing. There is zero fatigue. the liquid carbon adds a bit of umph on the bass too. these are great headphones for vocals. Male & female After almost 3 years of buying and selling headphones, these are still sitting on my desk, because I have not found a better value than these anywhere

A Top-Notch Experience From Beginning To End!
From the painless ordering process to making sure that the product arrived on time professionally packaged, along with an invoice to the actual product itself - the HD 6XX - Wow! I have been listening to music for over 40 years and have never heard my music like this before. Little nuances that were never heard before come out here. Not like hearing it for the first time, but like hearing a different mix of the same song. Very impressive Drop, please give yourselves a big hand for making these beautiful headphones even more available for all to enjoy!

What are "open back headphones"?
Open backs project sound both towards your ears and out the sides of the earpieces. This makes the sound feel as if they are coming from further away. Good for replicating the directions of where each vocals and instruments are coming from; like at a concert. Close backs sound as if the music is coming from the centre of your head; you get less "directional" experience but they feel more intimate. Open backs leak sound so if you are riding on public transport, the people sitting next to you might look at you sideways wonder why you are playing music for everyone around you. Most high end headphones are open back so don't worry about losing any sound quality from the leakage!
What is the best amp (or amp/dac) to pair with the HD6XX?
They go well with my Modi/Magni Schiit stack

Vocal Powerhouse
I really like the tuning of the HD6XX for my personal tastes. The vocals are very forward and present, while the higher mids and treble are recessed, offering a more warm tuning. In combination with its light build and comfy pads, the 6XX are headphones you can wear for hours without any fatigue. Overall, really great headphones, but don't expect too much on the bass.

Great Sound
Bought these to upgrade from the 58x. Sound is a step up from the 58x. The build quality of the 6XX is definitely better, and the ear cups fit on my ears a bit better. Definitely enjoy these more.

Good starter
A lot of folks claim this is one of the baseline sets for audiophilia. As one gets more exposure to alternatives (within but mostly beyond this price bracket) it becomes clear how limited this set is. Low on energy (eg limited treble extension), low on bass, solid mids but low on spatiality and separation. For me this means they are genre-limited. I've had these for years now and probably spent no more than 7 hours with them. They have a time and place but for me that's infrequently and usually when I want to listen to music while focusing on something else. Also...that headband...painful for big heads. That all said, their build quality is strong and for folks looking to get into modding my understanding is that they're a decent set on this front. Would recommend but with caveats mentioned.

My first open backs and I love them
Mostly used IEMs before but decided that it's time to check out headphones hype. HD6XX is a great starting point so it was a no-brainer. I got more than I could expect for that price — wide stage and awesome bass performance. I have no problems with build quality and headphones are very comfortable. My first experience was a great one!

Absolute reality
The headphones deliver an impressive audio experience when paired with the Apple dongle, producing clear and vibrant sound. However, their performance reaches new heights when connected to the iFi Zen DAC V2 that I recently purchased. The enhancement in sound quality is particularly noticeable in the bass frequencies, which are significantly amplified. As an avid listener of Deathcore, the bass boost button on the iFi Zen DAC V2 has proven to be an indispensable feature. It adds more bass to the music which truly enhances the listening experience. However, it’s worth noting that there is a bit of an adjustment period when it comes to the physical comfort of these headphones. The clamping force is quite strong initially, and the headband feels rather hard. It took me about one week to acclimate to the clamp force, and approximately two weeks for the headband to feel comfortable. So, while there might be a brief period of discomfort, the superior sound quality makes it a worthwhile investment.

Incredible Headphones for the Price
My daily drivers were AT m50x's for a while; I have enjoyed these quite a bit more. I have used higher-quality but much more expensive headphones. These punch way above their weight for the price. I did experience some clamping when I first got them but that doesn't take too long to wear in.

Great Headphones
Putting these on was a revelation that I wanted to listen to music even more. For the price they are outstanding. Would really recommend these. And yes the clamping pressure might be tight in the beginning.

Best headset
The amount of times I have dropped these off my desk is incredible and yet they have zero signs of damage. Extremely good product. The sound quality is great especially when paired with a DAC.

MASSDROP X SENNHEISER HD 6XX HEADPHONES
Solid, lightweight structure, very comfortable to wear for several hours, plastic materials that are not intended to be particularly valuable but still very reliable and which have proven to be able to withstand several years of intense use.

The reproduction remains focused on the perfect reproduction of medium and high frequencies, the bass however is adequate and above all articulated but without hiding the sound stage. _______________ » CONSTRUCTION No metal parts except the core of the headband which allows adjustment, the rest of the materials are made up of well-made plastic treated and painted in a pleasant way. The soft and velvety earcups are very comfortable and solidly applied. Removal and installation are very simple, an operation that you will find yourself having to consider at least once a year given the ease with which the earcups wear out, slightly changing the magnificent sound signature. The adjustment of the headband is good and fits perfectly, it is initially very tight but a few hours are enough for it to let go and almost "disappear". » PERFORMANCE The impedance, as for the HD600 and HD660S2, is 300 ohm, therefore to fully enjoy the performance of the headphones it is best to use a good headphone amplifier, possibly equipped with balanced outputs. The medium and high frequencies are reproduced perfectly and are never tiring even after several hours of listening. Low frequencies are precise, present but not excessive to guarantee pleasant but faithful listening and not colored differently than expected by the author. The sound stage is fairly wide and detailed, however listening remains intimate as with the HD660S2 which is not necessarily a flaw, in fact it guarantees a good representation of the sound image, each instrument and voice are perfectly identifiable in space by the listener. » CONCLUSIONS Excellent device, solid concrete and resistant. Concentrated on the sound reproduction of the medium-high frequency range with absolute fidelity, but which at the same time does not deprive the listener of the fun deriving from a colorful management of the low frequencies reproduced in an articulated but not emphasized way. Hours of satisfying and satisfying listening are guaranteed without any type of fatigue.

Incredible for the price
I ordered these headphones almost exactly four years ago and I feel they've been used well enough for me to leave a review. I've used these for music, movies, games and everything in between and I can honestly say I've never used another pair of headphones in this price range that's come close in sound quality and performance. After four years they're still comfortable, they clamp tightly, but not enough that you can still feel them after a few minutes. I've recommended them to friends and family; all of which would leave a similar review.
