WillI've got a question and a concern. After your site being laggy during the initial drop caused me to miss out by a matter of seconds (literally being in Australia and having a spinal cord injury that makes it a slow process going through the commitment after spending nearly an hour trying to order), I've been waiting for months for a follow-up drop. There's a lot of misinformation from Massdrop customers here, but no updates from staff other than on the cable. I'm pretty much at the point of eBaying a pair, but so disappointed in Massdrop that now my AKG K702's have given out from constant use for 6 years, I'm going to hold off replacing them with AKG K7XX's until Massdrop do another 6XX drop or at least communicate about it - as the only way I can vote is with my wallet.

Will there be more HD6XXs available? Yes, there will be more HD6XXs.
When will there be more HD6XXs? We're working on that with Sennheiser right now. The demand for these headphones is massive, and it's a lot harder to find the time for 25,000 units of production than 5,000 units of production. With over 54k requests, we're trying to plan with Sennheiser so the next drop isn't gone as fast as the first.
Will the HD6XX be the same price? That's what we're shooting for, but there is a possibility the price will have to increase. This is out of our control, all based on the prices Sennheiser gets from their suppliers.
Will the website be able to handle the next launch? Yes. Following the 6XX launch, our engineering team overhauled our transaction system. Where it previously could only handle ~20 transactions per second, it can now handle several hundred per second.

WillWhat's all this talk about a 3m cable, are we supposed to have received it? I mean I got a 1.8m cable that came with my 6XX's and that was whta was advertised so what's going on?

CardinalHunterAdvertised cable was 6ft. Received cable was ~4.5ft. Sennheiser and Massdrop decide to send us all 6ft cables as a result. They have been saying that since early 2017 but delays have resulted in the cables not getting shipped out yet. The cables should be arriving at Sennheiser soon, where they will be shipped out to us at whatever address your HD 6XX was sent to.

Though, we recently sent out an email so we could finalize the addresses we had on file to send over to Sennheiser, which has been completed. Your time and extended patience is more than appreciated. I can assure you, we expect to have the cables ship soon."

Jonathanl.01You can find a plethora of aftermarket HD650 cables anywhere you look. You can also buy the connectors and build your own almost as easily. No point in dealing with the hassle you're digging at here.

I've checked on Amazon and they have a couple of options, however, they are all too long for my liking. Im looking for something longer than what I have but shorter than 10 feet. Plus I am not a huge fan of aftermarket brands.

WillJust wanted to let you all know that I've just received my cable today. It is 1 foot longer than the one originally packaged with my HD 6XX's. I was never overly concerned with the cable issue, but I do think it's great that you all followed through with the replacement. Thank you!

WillAny updates on longer cables? I got an email on the 25th about getting addresses updated as needed but i did not need to change mine so i didnt do anything. No shipping info for one yet or any updates at all since that email

HelpfulTomCruiseI got a notification from UPS that a shipping label was created 3 days ago. It finally got to UPS today and is scheduled for delivery next Wednesday. My guess is you should see it in the next 2 weeks or so (Surepost is super slow). I received no notification from Massdrop.

WillI live in the UK and I've heard nothing about my cable. Has it been shipped? If it has been shipped, is it stuck in customs? I hope not as I've already paid the customs fee for the HD 6xx and should not have to pay again.

jedicsSupply and demand. Lots of demand, not much supply, so Sennheiser can charge whatever they want, and it will still sell, still not a bad price if you live somewhere that the shipping isn't unreasonable.

jedicsUnfortunately that tends to be the case with some of the more in demand items on massdrop, the shipping out of the US seems to put the price to similar spots as ones you could get in 2-3 days on other sites. I live in the US, so i generally only pay about $7-10 when I go in for a drop. (also, I personally like the blue, but to each his own)

ElsidI've already got a pair of AKG K702's which are dying a little after 7 years of daily use. Replacing the pads has helped but they're on long-term loan to someone who's going to be stuck in hospital for months rather than weeks, and the plastic headband clips have aged and broken - these don't seem repairable. Sennheiser HD650/6XX seem the best option in terms of Sound vs Build Quality as I suffer from a spinal cord injury and can't really afford even to replace the AKG's, but have hearing issues where headphones with an overactive/persistent treble cause my hearing to cut out (nerve damage huh) so it's limited me a lot - no lower end phones I've tried have been okay AND neutral-ish other than older K240's.

ElsidThanks Elsid, unfortunately disability is both expensive in itself and limiting in term of mobility - so shop visits are often out. However, i'm keen to have a pair of 650's for a while if only a couple of months just to remember what the sound was like when my hearing is gone. If only you could rent them, hey?

TigehI'm sorry. I have a friend who is a quad. He rolled his tank and broke his neck when we were in the military. I am also disabled. Half blind. I lost my left eyes vision to ocular melanoma. Do you have an Ebay where you live. They have some good deals. I got a new hd650 with extra mogami cords for $270 shipped. You say you need phones with less treble? I love my 712 the most, but they have very detailed highs, but not sibilant . I think Bose are very easy on the ears. Anyway, check out an ebay for deals. They can be found. Other stores drop their prices pretty often on the 650s. Stay well, and enjoy your music.
