I missed these the first time, it isa bit of a shame about the extra $50/£39 but they're still an absolute bargain. Under £200 with free UK delivery is an absolutely incredible bargain.

I'm in the UK too. We're going to have to pay VAT and import tax too aren't we? I think that's going to come in at 250-250 after that. Still, will give it a go, even if I still need to get a proper amp/DAC combo! Oh well.

I think it's probably best to expect VAT.
This is the first time that I've bought anything on here though and it doesn't seem that VAT to be universally paid, the type of shipping used seems to play a part in whether people have been charged or not. Even if you include any custom charges it'll be approximately £240-£245, I'm bot saying it's the cheapest place but looking on Amazon.co.uk the cheapest the 650s are on there is £319.99 so it's still a really good price for what you're getting.
You'll probably be able to use these without any additional hardware you will find they'll really do come alive if you do end using additional hardware. The good news is that don't have to start off with everything and still see the benefits but when you do go for a and amp/DAC you don't have to spend as much on them as you used to.
Due to being open backed they won't really be suitable for using in public but when I'm outside listening to music my setup is currently an iPod Classic, Fiio E12 and a pair of Bang and Olufsen H6s. You could probably buy a Fiio E12 for around £90 and they obviously list similar amps on here too for similar prices. There's no desperate hurry you to get one but when you do you will be really, really glad.

I'm happy with the £250. Just trying to read up on VAT, duty etc and courier markup to make sure it doesn't get lost in limbo, especially as we will get them around Christmas. It's not entirely clear what the process is going to be tbh, I just like to know what i have to do etc.
I think my dad has an old headphone amp that I can borrow for my main music listening but looking at a range of Fiio products for the PC. Bit new to all the DAC/amp tech so need a bit of research. But I think with a bit of time and money I can get my worth from them. If they turn up! If you figure out what is going on UK delivery wise let me know Please.

I quite like that they'll be delivered around Christmas, by the time they've turned up I'll have completely forgotten about them and the £200 I paid for them so they will feel a proper Christmas present.
I'd imagine that once you've heard the difference between what they're like with and without an amp you will definitely want an amp then. Even if you end with a lower end amp, these headphones really scale well so if you do upgrade your amp again it will almost be like getting new headphones again.

Well that's a nice surprise, I wasn't expecting that.
They dropped the price down to $200, which is just over £150 at the moment. They've also added extra days onto the sale and increased the stock to 11,500 units as they weren't selling enough of them originally.
They're selling like crazy now about 3000 units since yesterday, they'll probably sell out by the end of the day.

I was more than happy paying the £200 asking price but this just makes it even better, particularly as it was a complete surprise. This will more than cover any import charges and VAT.

Ah, just noticed the $15 dollar shipping. That's only about £10 though, which is nothing really.

Yeah same something on the site last night just as it came out, and was following it as it was making it up to 5000. Its gone through the roof now.
I still think that including VAT, duty and handling charge we will be looking at £215, but tbh if its below £250 all in then I'm happy.
