Seen this tutorial and I will definitely reference it but it looks like he just paints over the side logos above the grills. I saw another one where someone tapes them off but some paint still gets on them.

That part is actually molded into the plastic and painted. If you wanted to get rid of it, you'd have to fill in the gap around it and dremel/sand it flush.
