CokemanYou must be kidding... Check out https://usa.denon.com/us/product/hometheater/receivers/avrx5200w
There's a headphone jack on the front panel, and this thing has 9x140W @ 8 Ohms... I think it pretty well qualifies as an amplifier. Quality should be top notch considering the kind of DACs such beastly receivers use, especially Denon, especially in the high-end.
CokemanI think you have no idea about the features of this kind of devices. Headphones work impeccably well with AVRs, ever since the 1980s, period. Have you ever owned one? What do you think this front jack is for? Fyi, connecting headphones switches output to them, the sound usually stops outputting to regular speakers —i.e. using the front stereo amps to drive headphones.
Really, you should not talk about things you obviously don't know or ever used (let alone insist when contradicted) and spread false information. This poor dude you replied to could miss a great drop here if he listened to you, or would spend hundreds on an additional amplifier he doesn't need, at all (these AVR amps are very, very high quality at the high-end, and can drive any pair of cans without a sweat).
kosmoshello there..
