What sort of measurements does one have to run to be assured the 6XX have identical sound quality to the HD 650? Also, what sort of equipment would something like that require.

It's the same parts that are in the 650 direct from Sennheiser, just given a different color, some extra etchings, and an aftermarket detachable cable.
