I joined the drop for HD 6xx and looking for a good DAC/AMP combo, preferrably portable. I'm no audiophile but can appreciate good sound quality. This will be my first DAC and would like one that can adjust bass and treble if needed. I love bass and have a few questions for you pros out there. This may sound like a stupid question, but I read that human ear can only hear 20hz-20khz. These 6xx can go as low as 10hz. But most the DACs I found can only go down to 20hz. Should this matter? Wouldn't a DAC that can match the headphones on frequency range be better or would it not make a difference? Even though we can't hear 10hz sound, we should be able to feel the vibration of the bass as its deeper than 20hz correct?

eeldivadThe iFi Micro iDSD might be the portable DAC/amp you're looking for. It has a bass boost switch and a 3D switch that really just increases treble from what I hear.

JishengThe iFi Micro iDSD is $500 on amazon and out of my budget. But thanks for the recommendation. Since I won't get the HD 6xx till xmas, I'll keep searching. Maybe there will be a drop on a good one within my budget of $200-300 soon.

eeldivadOne option is an O2 amp /w batteries and you can use it with your phone DAC with an EQ software installed. Alternatively a FiiO e10k that has a bass boost button that's cleaner than EQ. There's not many things happening down at 10Hz, if there's any at all, aliasing will likely cover it up anyway.

eeldivadThe two most recommended DAC amps for small and inexpensive for these headphones is the fiio e10k and the schiit fulla 2. The fiio e10k has a bass boost switch but it only adds muddy base. It adds a little base always though. Alternatively if it doesn't have to be portable there's the O2 + odac (or massdrops version with the sdac) or the schiit stack

SteviewonderWhen you say schiit stack, do you mean getting the magni 3 and modi 2? So far this looks to be best quality within my budget to match up with the 6xx. Thx
