I'm watching Zeos review the 6XX in comparison to his HD600s. He's saying the the 6XX has a wider soundstage which takes away a bit of the detail plus it has a smoother bass response compared to the 600s. He's saying the 600s are more analytical compared to the 6XX. My guess is that the 6XX has a pretty warm sound compared to the 58X which is likely closer to the 600s which has a more analytical (and brighter?) sound. I wish I could afford both of these and hear the difference myself. I'm currently with 598s which are the best sounding headphones I've owned by far to this point.

Mark_M650/6XX is more popular than the hd600. The hd600 is definitely more of a reference sound, and headphones with a reference sound a lot of the time can be pretty boring. Luckily the hd600 is not boring, just a good reference can. But the hd600s do sound more grainy than the hd650/6XX. That graininess is definitely because they are overall less detailed. Z is wrong in that aspect. The 650s don't have an insane soundstage that detracts from the detail, it's just a lovely and natural sounding soundstage. Quite open but they can get a lot bigger. I will wholeheartedly recommend the hd650/6XX over the HD600, and add the point that I enjoy the hd650 more than the hd800, and more than several others in the 2,000 dollar price range. There's a reason why people will spend 2k on an amp, 2k on a dac, 2-3k on their headphones and still won't sell their hd650, the sound is addictive if you like it, and most do.

UzuzuHmm interesting. .... I was looking online and found someone selling the original 580s for $250 (Canadian) in excellent condition. That for me would be cheaper than the 6XX which is $270 Canadian with shipping and exchange rate.

Mark_M"with hd600 grills" that's disappointing and I wouldn't buy them lol. Original 580s are cool because of their grills.

UzuzuPlus it has a 9 foot cable which is too long for me. I bought a 4 foot cable for my 598s and its long enough for me.

Should I exchange the PC38X for better headphones?

I bought the PC38X headphones FOR GAMING and they are great, but I have NO use for a Microphone since I don't do competitive gaming and I was wondering if there were better headphone options at a similar price without a headphone, where (presumably) more of the cost was put into making it sound better. I also find that my PC38X don't get quite as loud as I would like and I was wondering if a cheap amp like the iFi Go link would draw a little more volume out of my phones. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BN6MM822?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I went with the PC38X since it was considered the best bang for buck headphones. Looking for a gaming/content audio setup

Hello! I'm looking for recommendations on audio setups. I'd be planning on using it mostly for gaming. Preferably I'd like a pair of large closed back headphones since I have a big head and jaw. I'd also like to hear myself through my mic with mic monitoring. As far as budget goes, I don't really have one. But under 600$ would be nice. I can go higher if needed. The audio setup would be connected to a high performance PC. Thank you in advance for any recommendations!

$10 Drop Coupon Email not sent?

Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.
