Great value for a pair of legendary headphones.
They do require power to drive and need a decent amp to bring out their potential. The laid back and dynamic sound signature will make you fall in love with your music collection all over again.
Don't pass up this great deal and grab these before the drop ends.
Should I get the 6xx or 58x?
Is the drop really limited to 10k units ? After the drop How long did it take until they started shipping ?
That's a tough call to make as that would come down to preference and your setup.
Both headphones require an amp but the HD58x's should be easier to drive due to being 150 ohm cans. I do not own the HD58x's and are unable to compare but reviews point to the HD6xx's having a richer/deeper/darker sound signature compared to the HD58x's. This could be a positive or negative depending on your taste. I personally love the deep dynamic bassy sound signature of the HD6xx's.
If you are planning on investing in a decent setup to start your audiophile hobby then i would bite the bullet and get the HD6xx's. I do believe the HD58x's are a great choice for those that do not want to spend too much on a power hungry DAC/Amp setup.
I think you meant to post this on the main thread section. I don't know about the 10k unit limit but can tell you that I missed this drop in 2016 and had to wait almost a year before this drop arrived again.
If you are seriously considering the purchase it may be worth jumping on it now. Take a look at what the HD650's are going for online and i think you will see the savings. I'm confident that i could easily sell my HD6xx's for what i paid for them and possibly more.
Which amp/dac combo should I get? Budget of 200$ max. Should I opt for the Magni Modi 3, Fulla 2 or the O2 Odac?
I would go with the Schiit stack for a $200 budget. I wasn‘t aware that you can get the O2 with DAC for less than $200?
