Should I get the Senheiser 6XX or the 58X?

Depends on what you like; they’re both very good.
The HD 58X have a brighter sound with nice transients and energy, the HD 650 is a little more relaxed but quite detailed.
I have and like both (benefit of working for Sennheiser, so I’d better disclose that), and I don’t think you’d go wrong either way. I feel like the HD 58X is more versatile with my whole music library on shuffle, but the more beguiling HD 650 (6XX) is nice to relax with after work or loud environments. Neither are very hard to drive, but the HD 58X is a bit more fully fleshed out on less powerful amps.

Do you realise that the HD6xx is essentially a midnight blue version of the 650?

Yes it's a rebranded 650 under massdrop. So the 6xx is way better na? I have none of those two headphones so answered on what I read.

I do like the HD 650. Not a bad choice. The HD 58X Jubilee is a new headphone that sounds a bit different from all the headphones that came before it, not a re-release of the original HD 580 Jubilee (although it is the 25th anniversary of that model). I don’t think anyone has reviewed the HD 58X Jubilee yet, because the current Massdrop drop is the product launch.

Alcoloz, the HD 6XX is not way better... they’re actually quite similar, except the HD 58X Jubilee‘s INTRODUCTORY price is $50 less, it’s a little bit easier to drive to get away with using a smartphone for playback (though it scales up GREAT, like with an iDSD Micro Black label or Chord Mojo), and it has a “modernized” sound signature with more treble extension and energy.

Ah ok. Thanks for explanation. Will have to wait for reviews for it then. 😀

I had to explain to a friend like 5 times that this isn’t the original HD 580, haha. Keep in mind, this is the launch price, which will probably go up in future drops. Thanks for listening, glad to drop a little info here.
