Was going to get a Objective 2 Headphone Amplifier for use with the 6xx with my PC and phone(Samsung Galaxy S8+). Looking for suggestions/opinions on what gain pairs well with the 6xx? So many to choose from don't want to make the wrong choice. 1.0x, 3.3x. 2.5x, 6.5x. 1.0x,3.5x. 1.0x,4.5x. 1.0x, 2.5x. Don't know how much gain I will need to power these for sure...help please :)
Or, should I be looking at a Schiit Magni 3 or Monoprice Desktop Headphone Amplifier and something else for phone use.

Look at the Aune X1S. It has about the same amount of power, right in that price range, and I think it blows the O2 out of the water.

joshy_bennettThanks, was thinking of trying just to O2 not the O2/ODAC together see how it goes with using the computer and phone for the DAC but maybe worth it to just get both in one with something like you listed then find something else to use with phone on the go.

If you are pretty set on just an amp, maybe also look at the Schiit Magni 3. It has a solid output and almost twice the power for the same price. It doesn't have the battery capabilities though, but it does have lower output impedance, better THD+N measurements, and its a solid amp.

Also, for a great portable option, the FiiO A5 has plenty of power and a pretty decent battery.

Sennheisers sound their best with Tubes IMHO. If you really want that "OMG these sound Amazing!" feeling from them I would recommend looking into a Darkvoice 336se. It's a pure OTL Tube amp that sounds stunning with some tube rolling. I got mine open box for $229USD. Best investment I've made yet. Just my .02 Hope this helps :)
