Good for gaming? I'm a console gamer looking for something better than these "gaming headsets" was wondering if anyone had tried these for console gaming?

DrwskeThese are WAY better than gaming headsets but you will need a proper Amp to drive these.

DrwskeThey're ok, but I think the AKG K7XX or the Beyerdynamic DT990's will be better.

DrwskeYes, they're good for gaming. Get a Modmic for them if you use voice chat.

DrwskeThe pair I'm most looking forward to try is the Focal Elex that I joined in on, hehe. I think those might be good for gaming also. I have the HD650 and they sound good and were ok for gaming. I've never heard the K7XX or the DT990s but most will say that those two are better for gaming than the HD6XX series because they have a bigger sound stage and more sub bass than the HD6XX. Also they'll be easier to drive since they're lower ohm. Well if you get the 80 ohm and under DT990s. The Philips Fidelio X1 and X2, I hear, are also good for gaming.

AftermanPersonally speaking I'm looking for a buddy of mine I have a pair of ATH-M50x's that work well enough for me although I'd still prefer a higher quality set for gaming purposes so figured why not give good ole Massdrop a shot

DrwskeYeah, sure thing. But it's 2 months out so I might forget hehe. My previous headphones for gaming was the Beyerdynamic T1. Those had awesome sound stage and imaging for gaming. Just that they broke so I've been searching for some good all arounders again.

AftermanI haven't had an issue with the M50x's personally soundstage is decent once you get brainwaves pads that are a not thicker the bass drops ever so slightly (drivers further from ears) but the soundstage increases about 5x or so I'm able to get great directional hearing as is but again some higher quality is never a No go
