I love my Sennies. I've been wanting a set of HD650's since they were the top of Sennsheiser's line but could never justify the price. $200 was a magic number for me, and I got a pair.
I love their sound. They do a GREAT job of the human voice, arguably the most important part of music. They don't go super low, and I can no longer hear super high, but I feel such a sense of relief when switching back to these after listening to any of my other headphones.
I don't know if it's because they're open-backed, but they give a much more expansive sound stage for me. I feel sad when I need to use closed-back headphones for whatever reason.
I got a replacement cord designed for use with a phone, with inline mic etc. Driven from my iPhone SE they don't go super loud, but I don't need that. Two pushes down from max volume is enough for me. When using them with my amp I don't need to go much above 9 on the dial for them to be loud enough.
I really like these headphones. I don't feel the need for any others.
