FedEx "Smart Post" is the worst. Its been on the move 6 days now and just got to MN (I'm in WA). 24 hours to cross IL alone (why 2 stops in that backwater anyway). My theory is they are using the new Uber Express freight service. Like the Pony Express but Uber drivers. Like Amazon shipping was early on. Independent drivers in beatup late model sedans driving the package a 100 miles or so then handing it off to the next driver. FedEx says 6/6 delivery. It left NJ on 5/25.

Mine has been the opposite experience in a sense. They shipped out super fast across the country. Took two days from NJ to California. Once it hit the LA area, though, it sat around there for 4 days, it stayed in one location for two days. It finally shipped up to sacramento a few hours ago. I bet what they're going to do now is wait until monday, ship it to my local distribution center, then deliver it on Tuesday...technically on time...but it spent most of that time just waiting around.

LOL, everything hits a wall when it hits the LA area. Sometimes you see packages leave a facility, only to travel 3 miles to another facility in the next town over where it takes a full day before it leaves again, but only goes a few more miles down the road to yet another facility where it sits for two days before it finally resumes its trip to reach you.

Well, it looks like the same thing's happening to me. It got from PA to CA in just under three days. It's taking at least a full day now to get into the Los Angeles Gyre where it'll churn and shuffle for the rest of the week before somehow appearing in San Jose for the originally estimated Saturday delivery.
