The DHL International Shipping is shocking. My Headphones were dispatched almost 2 weeks ago and they have been stuck in Germany (DEFRAA, DE) for a week now... :'-(
I may be in Australia, but in my experience shipping packages to my sister in NY, the standard postal service travels faster than this.
Same but i think it is just a really slow transport without any notifications, meaning they are not really stuck there.
Also, it might be that you are first getting a customs fee letter. Is Germany the final destination? I'm in Belgium and will probably have to pay somewhere around 70 euros to clear them.
This means that first the product is inspected and depending on the value they will send you a letter with a payment request. Than you'll have to pay it, they have to receive the payment and only than will it be shipped to your house.
We are not in Germany, i mean i sure am not. It is normal for my orders to pass through some country like Germany or Netherlands but this specific delay is not normal. Of course some delay in each country's customs is expected, but we are not there yet sadly.
My headphones shipped this morning and as a fellow Australian I am quite concerned about how long shipping is going to take.
If possible, I would greatly appreciate if you could keep this thread up to date with the progress of your shipment just so I know what I am in store for.
I'm in Australia. Very frustrating. Standard mail goes faster than this.
Overview so far: My package was shipped on 30 May. Went around a bunch of US facilities and then processed in Germany on 5 Jun. Had no updates since. Don't believe that the updates are just slow as it was updating fine on the tracking page as it was passed around in the US.
Trying to remain patient...
Aah, sorry, I missed that in you first comment! I'm just consoling myself with the thought they are probably well worth the wait. Hang in there ;)
Update: my order seems to have arrived at the port(?!) of Athens, Greece as of today and currently going through customs. I literally cannot think of a way it came by ship, but do i care? Feucht, Germany to Athens, Greece in just 13 days and that's a new record!
Wow. Impressed that they got a ship in to Feucht. That's some feat alone. Haha. Is Greece the final destination for you?
Still no movement at my end. My take some time to get a ship to Sydney! DHL said to me last week that the worst-case delivery date was tomorrow.... Won't hold my breath.
Such a shame as it reflects poorly on Massdrop to have such a bad delivery method.
Yep, my final destination is Greece. I think Feucht is a somewhat common connection for destinations like mine. I still wonder how and why it was shipped by ship. I am now kinda relieved the order arrived here, no matter the customs' delay.
As for you, i believe your order is moving slowly but just like mine, there is no tracking after Germany and before it enters your country. I will not be surprised if even though your last update is DEFRAA, you still get your order by ship.
I think my job is done here, i will leave you Australians to yourselves, and hope for the least possible wait time.
Ps my previous order from massdrop last month was delivered by dhl too, but followed a different route and arrived maybe even faster than expected, so i guess this problem is circumstantial.
I don't suppose your package sat on 'en route' for days and days after it left for the DHL distribution center?...
You'll be pleased to know that they just landed in Australia. No idea how long any customs etc might be – but at least they are in the country – so that's a relief. So don't be surprised if it sits on the same status for 10 days.
I'll certainly be avoiding DHL wherever possible in the future. Now over to you Australia Post...
Good to hear!
Yeah, can certainly agree with that. Hopefully your luck with Australia post is a little more promising!
Germany to Greece: 1.6k km distance (13 days)
Germany to Australia: 14k km distance (14 days)
And you think you are the one who should avoid DHL...
They're here! I guess customs did their job quite fine..
Kinda crappy photo, contrary to this amazing budget combo.
Did you ever get your headphones? haha
