Uh oh, this is not looking good. Here we have another drop on these and we are two drops behind in shipping! I read that there are those whom have received these, but me thinks this time we may be dealing with vaporware. I joined the drop in May, which was slated for August delivery, now it seems there was not enough interest I guess? So they are doing another drop to fill order? This means we may not see the cans, if at all, until October/November? Maybe?
Would like to know what is going on at least. How about it Massdrop? Perhaps a sentence or two?
skpetic1Where does all this speculation even come from. The May drop isnt supposed to ship until the end of August. Just because other drops shipped early doesnt mean this one is entitled to the same. The drop likely reopened because of refunded orders/problem with payments, so they opened it to fill those spots (like 700 spots of almost 50,000 orders). Thats like a 1.4% loss of orders theyre trying to refill, which is nothing. What kind of logic is it to think that the past two (+?) drops shipped early, so the next drop will ship 2 or more months later then its supposed to? Stop over-exaggerating and just be patient. This drop isnt even slated to ship for another 1.5 months....
skpetic1its been two months since I paid for my drop and the drop i was involved in sold out two days before the estimated end date so with my shipping guarantee being august 31st I would not panic till its actually late because just before my drop they got theirs two months early but as long as your shipping date is not late Iwould not worry .
Iwould like mine early but the promise was the end of august and two of the drops i have been in got me my merchandise at least one month early
breuschThe past two drops did not ship early, you missed the point. The May drop was supposed to start shipping beginning August, not last day of August.
My speculation is based on what is in front of my eyes and no updates or communication from MassDrop. I'm beginning to think there may be something going on with Sennheiser and not necessarily any MassDrop thought up machinations. I'm not hitting the panic button yet, but when I joined it said shipping started first week of August. However, I will have no problem with it shipping towards end of August because it is not headphone season until after summer. I can't even look at a headphone when the weather is too warm.
My concern is the existence of these cans. Maybe Sennheiser says that there is not enough orders to begin production, which will put many in a bad way and cause MassDrop the biggest headache ever or there are problems elsewhere such as a trade war. These cans are made in China and there are issues right now.
skpetic1Take a deep breath. Ok. Now take another one. Now repeat after me. "Around 45,000 people have already received their 6xx's."
I don't know if you've noticed, but Massdrop isn't in the habit of posting updates every time the calendar moves ahead by a day. The drops for the 6xx move so fast that any announcements they put out are pretty much invalid by the time most people read them. The highlighted announcements for the 6xx always appear to be general in scope and apply to a range of purchases around the same time. It appears that they've given up on trying to have a status update highlighted in the discussion thread.
Your actual projected ship date is going to be in your transactions history anyway and to date they've been beating their shipping estimates by 1 to 2 months on average. That probably won't continue to be the case, but before you start freaking out about what this means, DON'T PANIC. They're using more realistic shipping estmates now. Before they were obviously padding their shipping estimates by 1.5 to 3 months. My shipping estimate was around 4 months. I got them in a little over 2 months.
Hey, why did you stop breathing. Come on, inhale. Now exhale.
skpetic1This headphone is made in ireland it's written in the description dude read. I ordered in May too and the shipping date in my transactions history didn't move a bit it's late august.
skpetic1I've put up a request and joined the may drop as soon as it was available, the estimated shipping date was 31st of august from the very start.
Take note that it still states "estimated", so they might end up shipping out 31st of december and the statement would still be correct.
hyperlinkedAlready stated that I am fine if they arrive after August. I'm just one who prefers to know if there is a problem, whether it be the manufacture or reseller or what have you.
ZebrechUh, 99% of headphones are made in China, regardless of what descriptions say as they are not always 100% accurate. Just because a product is made in China, that does not mean they are bad. A company located anywhere may design the product and have it made in China. If the design is good, no problem no matter where it is made.
I have a pair of $80 cans made in China that while not the most comfortable, they are highly accurate and one of the best sounding pair I have. They beat my AKG 7xx and Senn HD518 to pieces.
skpetic1the 6 Series Sennheisers have only been made in Ireland
other than a few made in Germany in the early 90s of which I owned a pair .
not that anything from China is poorly made but I guarantee if Sennheisers say made in Ireland they are
