Mine arrived today and they sound very good. First listen was The Doors LA Woman in Hi_Res (24bit-96000). One thing is how hard they are to drive compared to my Oppo PM-2. Even with my Oppo HA-2 I have the Volume turned up to max on my computer. Crazy!!

Well, those Oppo cans are 32 Ohm with 500mW max power while the 6xx is 300 Ohm with 500mW max power.
How do the 6xx sound compared to the PM-2?

Generally you're supposed to max out the audio source and then use the amp's volume control anyway, so it's not like these are particularly "hard to drive".

If you're outputting a digital signal, sure, max out the volume to preserve the full resolution, but if you're outputting analog, you'll likely run into massive clipping and grossness if you're preamp is turned all the way up (especially with the terrible amps that most computers have).
As for these being hard to drive, no, they're not terribly hard to drive compared to some headphones out there, but they are much harder to drive than most low end headphones or IEMs (and the PM-2s that OP was comparing to).

I am assuming that Bob is using his Oppo HA-2SE as a DAC/Amp via USB, not a stand alone amp via line in

Fair assumption, but he didn't specify for sure, and it's really not relevant anyway. The crux of the comment was that the 6xx is harder to drive than the PM-2, which is true. If he's using the USB input on the DAC, he should 100% have the PC output volume at max to avoid quantization errors that will result in loss of audio resolution.

Hello, Sorry about the delay getting back to you. I see you guys had a very good discussion about my "hard to drive" comment lol. I am using an Oppo HA-2 not SE. I have had it a long time and will keep it until it gives up the ghost. I do have the volume turned up to max on my computer and adjust with the Amp/Dac vol. The Oppo PM-2 just sound better all around compared to the 6XX. They both have their places. If I want to hear some Yes or something along those lines I will take the Oppo's. If I get an urge for Led Zeppelin I might pull out the 6XX and blow my brains out lol. I also listen to a lot of Blues and still have to compare that genre. At one time I had thoughts about selling the Oppo cans but like the Amp/Dac I will put them in my will. They are both very well built!!
