Anyone know an approximate time for the 6XXs to burn in, because they don't seem to have a noticeable improvement over my E-MU Purple Hearts.

ArentiaI really don't believe in burn-in (at least not for earphones)... I think it is just your ears adjusting.
Now, I would suggest you make sure you have the proper power and a good DAC to push these. I can run 600ohm headphones off my motherboard (specific capacitors, power lines etc.. on the motherboard to handle it) but still get better sound from my Fostex DAC.
