Schiit magni3+modi2 stack VS audioquest DragonFly Red
Hello, I have been looking at reviews and opinions and have my decision set on either the Schiit $200 stack of magni3 and modi2 or the $200 Dragonfly Red. I know there is a lot of other options out there but I have my options only between these two now. There aren’t too many reviews on the DragonFly Red and I never understood how they get so much performance in such a small size factor which throws me off. Schiit looks like a great value but there are a lot of people that trash the brand and products, meanwhile everyone seems to enjoy the DragonFly Red. I’m not an expert on any of this and I don’t own any equipment as of now and I would like to know what you guys think would be better for these 6XX and I also use a DT990 Premium. Thanks

S_P12For ultimate portability with enough umph drive the 300 ohm 6XXs you can’t go wrong with the DF Red. I use it with an iPad using a USB photo adaptor (which works flawlessly). The red is very detailed and neutral. I also use a Brooklyn DAC for my main system and when I switched it (on a whim) with the Red I found the Red surprisingly close in terms of detail and dynamics. My only issue is that its so small it’s easy to misplace when traveling.

S_P12I have the Dragon Fly Red and love it. Downloaded the AQ app from the website and upgraded the firmware on it to the latest. I use mine all of the time both with the laptop and Iphone as well.
