I've tested a wide variety of headphones, and I'd like to think I'm VERY picky with the type of sound I'm accustomed to.
I've owned DT 990 pro's, DT 990 600ohm, AKG K7xx, AKG K702, DT 1990 Pro and a few other headphones that aren't worth mentioning. I've grown to LOVE beyers DT lineup. Owning three pairs of 990 pros, one pair of 990 600ohm, and one pair of the 1990 pro I've always had a hard time straying away from their unique sound and deep bass that rattled my core. With the many pairs of headphones I've tried to call replacements I've always ended up right back with a pair of DT's as my daily driver. That was however until I listened to these AMAZING headphones. I usually break headphones in for 24-48 hours before I decide if they're worth my time. With the 6xx's I plugged them in, put on some music that I use to test all of my headphones to gauge their scale and was immediately blown away. The last time I was wowed by a pair of headphones was with the DT 1990 pro's, unfortunately the pair I had back then had a very noticeable crackle in the right earphone forcing me to send them back.
I'd highly recommend these headphones to anyone looking for a change from their dailies. I've been driving beyerdynamic headphones for the last 5-6 years, and I've finally found worthy a replacement.
In order to properly love these headphones though, I highly recommend something that can drive their need for power. I'm using the ASUS essence stx II set to 300ohm-600ohm impedance level.
Do you find the 6xx better than the dt 990 600ohms ???
What is the total weight of the whole package i mean the box+headphone+cable ?
