Does this work for phones? I know it’s not meant for them, they’re great all around headphones, but does it come with the ability to plug into your phone?

Yes, you can use them with your phone, but the sound quality you'll get is practically below the sound of an average headphone costing less, but more efficient. You'll need a portable amp. The Sennheiser HD-58X are more efficient, less ohms, less power needed to make them sound good.

Darn, and their drop isn’t even up rn. ): thanks for the major feedback! Guess it’s not my area to purchase these incredible headphones.

I had a pair that I regularly would plug into my old Nexus 4. Plenty of volume and they still sounded great. Not as good as out of a great source obviously, but they were still very listenable. If you have an amp to run them through normally, then plugging them directly in a phone from time to time isn't gonna hurt. They're a great headphone!

Depends on the smartphone. Some like the iphone or the high end LG/Samsung and a few HTC smartphones can drive these. Rest of the Android smartphones are deliberately volume capped due to some stupid EU laws.

While they sound much better amped, my LG V30 does quite a good job with my 6xx's. I'm sure the same can be said of any of the quad DAC LG units.
