What can I say? If you're already familiar with the legendary HD 650, you probably already have them, but if you don't, at this price you really should do yourself a favor and get them.
But if you're worrying about the so called "veil" or think you're not into dark sounding headphones, I still recommend you get them while you can. People's taste in sound do shift as time goes by and your taste in music evolves. I used to love bright headphones, but in the past year I've developed a love for warm sounding headphones, and these have become one of my favorites. And even if you really don't like dark sounding headphones, you probably still need a pair of headphones for your old time rock n roll and jazz recordings, most of which may sound harsh on a pair of bright headphones, but these make them much more listenable. And did I mention it scales really well? With my Mojo it sounds very good, but with my Hugo 2 it sounds simply fantastic! I can't wait for my first tube amp to take it to another level.
I have 4 pairs of headphones cost 3 times and more, but these are always in my collection and gets equal listening time as other much more expensive headphones. At this price you really can't go wrong with these.
