I am a music producer and DJ. These sound great. I use these with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 at home and my Denon DJ MC4000. I’ve been using Bose speakers and Bose headphones when performing and mixing.
And then I listened to a friend’s HD 650s back in 2012. The sound signature is so different from other headphones, but this time it’s better, WAY better. It was as if I was the microphone. Listening to vocals was intimate and accurate, and my instrumentals are more bouncy, detailed, and vibrant. The bass is balanced without “muddying out” the mid and high frequencies. With a good dac and amp, these cans will be my daily drivers for years to come.
Now they are 6XX’s.
Even though I gave these 5 stars, there’s only one thing that I think they could revise. The build quality. Yes, you’re getting ~$500 drivers for less than half, but I was wishing a little bit more... rugged feeling. I’m not saying it’s bad, the plastic is solid, it’s not cheap. But I just wish there were more metal elements. And since I travel and go to festivals a lot, I’m always moving.
But all in all, these headphones are awesome packed with unbelieveable value and I want everyone to throw their Beats away (pls don’t) and get these.
