After waiting 31 days (not kidding), these headphones finally got delivered tonight. First impression before connecting: These feel sort of plasticky, but not in a cheap way, if that's possible. Connecting to desktop audio (Schitt Magni 3 + Modi Multibit) using replacement headphone cord (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XYNZMDZ): Oh my God. These headphones are so smooth! Incredible job, Massdrop. Listening to different sources reveal a wide soundstage, great detail but very musical. Vocals are very focused with the replacement Sqrmekoko cable, and the dynamics seem a bit louder (how?) than the stock cable. I'm having all this fun 10 minutes after unboxing the pair. I'm going to burn these in for a couple of days to see what the result is. Having said that, I'm really impressed with the quality of these headphones. Bad thing (I guess): If I'm listening at relatively loud levels, my GF sitting 5 feet away knows what song I'm playing. The open-eared design does not limit or conceal anything, but oh.. does it allow for a wide soundstage. Also. the stock headphone cable isn't as refined as the 3rd-party Sqrmekoko cable, but it's pretty darn smooth on its own. I've never heard the AKG K7XX headphones, so I can't compare them to these. But oh, these are great.

Sorry. They are the Sqrmekoko 4ft silver plated replacement cable, which I find too short for my tastes. But they sound more dynamic and lively, with a wide soundstage.
