I've been listening to the hd6xx for 8 days now using the LG V30. How much would I have to spend on desktop dac/amp to get noticeably better sound than the V30's 32bit dac and amp? Can I assume that most hardware under $200 won't sound that much better? A few recommendations would also be greatly appreciated. I'm new to audio. Thanks!

I never tried the LG so I can't comment on how good it sounds compared to $200 gear. I can say, my "good enough cheap gear" price point was around $500. For me it is the CTH and Schiit Modi Multibit. I may end up liking the RDAC better, sadly it was delayed. Of course you may have different taste than I do, many people like the cheaper Schiit stack (Modi + Magni). I didn't like the Modi nor the Vali2 when I owned them. I found them both boring. But the Modi Multibit is by far my favorite "cheap" DAC. Another thing I've noticed is these headphones scale really well with good gear, more than most of my other headphones.

I have the portable Fiio Aspen 2 (which is portable) and I think it sounds great and I'm not strapped to a desk.

tube amps sounds great with this beast. try a cheap one and use your V30 as DAC. https://www.head-fi.org/threads/which-amp-dac-pairs-the-best-with-sennheiser-hd600-650s.864190/ Darkvoice or Bottlehead Crack w/Speedball upgrade.
