Anyone have a suggestion for earpads? I like these headphones, but after an hour or so of listening, my ears get sore from being pressed up against the headphones themselves. Any solutions?

Reduce the clamping pressure.

Huh, is it clamping force? I just assumed my ears were too big and stuck out too much.

From what I hear changing out pads on the 6X0 line isn't the best idea as the sound signature is heavily reliant on the pads. With that said, if you're willing to risk that look into Dekoni Audio pads. I have some for a pair of AKG's and they're pretty solid. You can also reduce clamp pressure by just regular use or stretching the headband out on something (not too wide) like a box.

I'll try stretching it out some more. however, I feel like it's the pads that are too "thin" for my ears as the cartilage is always pushed up against the ear cups. But again, I'll try some stretching. Do you know what changes about the sound signature if I go with something like the Dekoni pads?

Check this link out. Looks like the upper mids are a bit more emphasized and the treble is more peaky and less refined. https://www.superbestaudiofriends.org/index.php?threads/hd650-hm5-pads-compared-to-stock-pads.2051/ It's not the Dekoni pads and while the Dekoni's will probably effect the sound a little differently than the HM5 pads (also a solid pad choice for comfort and pad depth) I'd imagine it's a decent representation of what to expect when changing out the stock pads.
