I'll keep this pretty short, as there are tons of reviews about these headphones. I love playing records after I get home from work. It's the best way to unwind. Unfortunately I live in a small apartment complex so I'm always peeking out the window to see if my neighbors cars are home. I have a pair of Elac Debut b6.2 hooked up to an Onkyo TX-8140 two channel receiver. The Onyko amp is 110 w per channel. So, needless to say this set up can get pretty loud. I needed a way to enjoy my records without shaking the whole floor. A friend of mine recommended these headphones.
I just got them in today. Its a completely different experience listening to music through these versus my bookshelf speakers. The mids on Sennheiser HD 6XX are where these really shine. The highs and lows are good as well. The sound quality is not shiny as you would get with some Klipsch speakers. These are far more reserved in a regal way. All in all I am very satisfied. Just finished listening to one of my favorite Wilco records and was amazed at how intimate the vocals were. I could have sworn Jeff was singing right next to me.
Also they are extremely well built and very comfortable. I will post another review in 6 months to see how well the cord holds up.
