This was my first pair of Hi-Fi headphones. I paired them with a Schitt Audio Modi 2 DAC/Amp and have been running them off the single cable provided with the Modi (no supplementary power connection). My order was instock and arrived on time for my purchase.
I was impressed at first. Testing with audio samples I was generally able to determine the difference between a high bitrate or lossless file and a lower bitrate file. Even audio from YouTube seemed to sound better, but I think that may be psychological. My typical audio source was Spotify Premium.
In general and now that I've gotten used to them, I do not seem to get the same satisfaction with Hi-Fi audio that others claim. If you're looking to dive into this world, these are a great set but you may want to consider something cheaper to determine if you're an "audiophile" or not. I think my expectations were just too high.
For the product itself I have no complaints. Build quality is great. Lows are moderately strong. Mids and Highs are clear. Turning up the volume doesn't quickly become deafening because of the open back, and it really does feel closer to listening with speakers or live music. I think these headphones work better for Country, Folk, Spoken Word, and Acoustic music, compared to Pop/EDM/Hip-Hop which may sound better on a more bass-heavy headset.
