I have come back after 3 years of not affording these. I just want to know how to they perform with Games? Ill probably get a Schiit Magni/modi Stack to power em.(if i am wrong about the stack let me know please)
Should be fine! They are a well rounded headphone, good for games but great for music.
Not that it will help you much now, but I will have this exact setup once this drop ships. Joined this drop and just bought a magni/modi 3. Went with a Blue yeti mic. I'll be able to test the setup next month.
Schiit amps are very aggressive. I have the jotunheim paired with these and I wish I would have gotten something more relaxed like the Aune X1S or X7s. Just be careful, I’m not sure I’m happy with the jotunheim paired with these.
What do you think of SChiit Stack and 58X ? maybe they will go better. I have been reading and conflicting views everywhere. Some say the 58X is the superior headphones.
People that have those views about headphones being better or worse once you get to this level don’t quite know what they’re talking about. I’m not going to get into the specifics but with quality headphones they’re just different. Better bass response here slightly sibilant there, those kinds of things. It’s just what your tastes are. The sad thing is you won’t know what you like till you try it. The 58x are very similar to the 660s which most people would agree the sound signature of the 660s are between the 600s and 650s/6xxs. After my experience with the 6xx and my jotunheim I wouldn’t pair the 58x, 600s, or 650s/6xxs with any schiit amp mainly because they’re known for being aggressive and slightly harsh for solid state amps. They do have great value however which is why they are so appealing but if you’re buying an amp to pair to the 58x, 600s, or 650/6xxs or vice versa I believe a schiit amp isn’t the best choice.
