any amps recommended to power these? I'm not an expert in audio
I personally recommend the JDS Atom as a starting amp. It's low priced (relative to other amps) and it's a no-nonsense amp. It has minimal distortion and has clean outputs, so it'll power a lot of headphones. It also doesn't color the sound like some amps might such as tube amps, so if you just want a straight volume increase, then the Atom will do that. If you want something "fun," people really like the CTH (though, there are mixed reviews on it regarding measurements and quality). Another option might be a dark voice or little dot tube amp (but I don't have much info on those).
The atom isnt just a starter amp its potentially end game it has the lowest distortion of any amp on the market right there with the massdrop thx amp. The only reason to go for thx is if your dead set on balanced but in all honesty there is no point the atom has plenty of power to drive almost anything. Head over to audio science review and check out its measurements.
I have the amp. I mainly say starter because it lacks the balanced options (some people really like balanced). For the price, it is (in my opinion) possibly the best amp you can get (assuming you don't care about things like sound coloring from things like tubes and what not).
I bought the JDS atom with this. It is my first amp, and I am excited to try it
