Quick question, y'all: what does this pair do that the HD58X Jubilee don't do? I'm asking because I'd like to have both, but if their sound signatures are similar, maybe it's not worth paying for a new set. Thoughts?
I bought the 6xx and still waiting for it to review it, looking at the frequency response, I think the sennheiser 58x is better than the 6xx, now how each sounds that is another different story.
Reviewers say the 580's are a mix between the 650 and 600 but these Massdrop 580's have cut the power in half so they wouldn't have nearly as much refinement in the sound as the 650's with an AMP. The 650's are THE easy listening, warm sound classic for under $1000 cans. Many Audiophiles say these are one of their go-to's
The 58X has nothing to do with the 580. It is basically a tweaked 598 driver.
I hope you're trolling and not just spreading misinformation.
I’m not trolling at all. The 58X uses a 500 series driver. It’s not the same as the 580 or the 660S.
lol. When did I say it was the same as the 580 or 660s driver? Do you have any proof to back up your claim? As far as I know there is not a 150ohm driver in any of the 500 series. I hope your assumption is based off of something besides looks. Just because it has a cheaper white plastic housing like the hd 500 series means nothing about its origin.
Almost everything regarding the sound, specs on the 58x seems to match the 660. Since there is no confirmation from sennheiser, we are just speculating things.
LOL no it doesn't match the 660s at all. Only thing that matches it spec wise is that it is 38mm.
I have both. It’s not the same thing at all. It’s very obvious it’s not the same as 660S driver. Specs are different. And 58X sounds noticeably less detailed than 6XX and 660S.
