OK.... Has anyone bought these in the past few weeks who could help? I wanted to buy these if they are 650's then whey they hell not. Save 100 bucks vs Amazon. Is it true they sound like crap now? They are not 650's anymore but some crappy version of the 650? Would you get 600's instead. Note: I own the 660's they are great. But I want 600's and 650's. I heard nothing but great things about tubing these headphones.

InkeyI have been reading up on these obsessively since I will buy them now that I have ordered the THX amp, and have not seen this information you talk about ANYWHERE, except, to an exent, the Sonarworks thread which clearly states that: "I was around during the black/white screen HD650 debacle. I’d really like to avoid creating rumours that there are some better or inferior version HD650ies floating around. As far as I and my engineers are concerned, Sennheiser has nailed the manufacturing in Romania and the current stock HD650ies are identical to the regular ones before the factory swap." By the Sonarworks mod... From the rest, I've found some mentions of faulty cables, that's it. And that is not important (to me), since I will be using them with a custom balanced 4 pin XLR cable from the day I receive them. Could you share your sources, please? These are literally 650s without the hideous colour scheme.

snowsurferI Found that information right here on this website, under the reviews. I was just making sure it was BS and not Fact. Sounds like it its BS. Thanks you saved me 100 bucks. I was going to buy them on Amazon for 319, why bother if the 6xx is the same thing for 220. Thank you

By the Sonarworks mod..." There's so much bull online with respect to audio these days, I don't believe a word of it. The manufacturers and sellers are ecstatic since they found out that all these new reviewers can be bought for a few free "samples" so back hands, and VIP tickets to audio shows so they can get videos/reviews out. There's no integrity whatsoever.

LuckyLuke575While I agree with most of your post, you need to look into who the quoted ones are first, and know it before putting them in that basket.
