Good phones!
Just received my pair today. Am comparing them to a pair of Neumann NDH 20s. I can hear the family resemblance. I'm a classical music nut and the lower registers of string instruments sound more to my liking on the Neumanns. Still have to listen to them much more extensively. Of course I'm aware that the Neumanns cost over twice as much. BUT both are made in China. Why not in Germany or Austria or even "gulp" in Taiwan.
No question; many will prefer the sound of thee phones over the Newmanns, for one, they are more comfortable over most peoples' ears. I'm an old timer and the Newmanns remind me a bit of the Acoustic Research AR 3s of the 1960's more relaxed presentation, more liquid with a recess around 200-400 Hz; less of an I'm next to you presentation. Maybe lower distortion than the HD 650XX. Of course as stated above Neumanns cost over 2X the HD650XX. That's my take. Both recommended.

The HD 6xx pads are made in Germany, drivers are made and matched in pairs in Ireland, the enclosure and final assembly is in our factory in Romania.
