How would those potentially compare to the HIFIMAN 350? Also, i wouldn't be surprised if the following stat doesn't make it to the box: Frequency response: 10 Hz – 41 kHz
Are you asking how the HE350s compare to the 650s? It's not even close. The HE350 are a downgrade in almost every way. The 650s were a premium with the bass boost, hand matched drivers and better cable than the 600s. The 350s are treble hot and unbearable, while the 650s are warm. They also scale with higher end amps, that a lot of headphones don't do well. The only thing I see wrong with this drop is the cable, they shortened it which is cool, but 1/8 termination seems oriented towards mobile. This isn't an outside headphone since it's harder to drive and open. 1/8 isn't as sturdy as 1/4 terminations.
this needs an amp, but it's not even a comparison. The HE-350 isn't really all that good. IMO it loses to even the HD 598, and the HD 650 is a clear upgrade over the 598.
Keep in mind the HE350 was ~$99 and these are twice as much. They're both excellent deals (as long as you can tame the HE350's treble and the 6xx doesn't have quality issues). Sennheiser 650s are legendary, so if their new manufacturing method isn't crap the price is astonishing. If there's a low cap on quantity these will probably sell out within a couple hours of opening the drop.
