whats a good cheap(50-100) first amp to make sure these sound great from a pc soundcard?
Great and are these worth it for someone who listens to music for hours a day? I would be stepping up from m50x's for desk use.
Yeah, sure you get up to 10 hours ish.
I've been using the Fiio E12 Mont Blanc (portable amp) and it's been great for my AKG Q701's. I'm actually going to be selling it and buying the Schiit Jotunheim but if you're looking for portable amp for around $100 I highly recommend it.
Many factors here in the "is this better" comparison.
If you're in a quiet environment, these are amazing. But if you're in a noisy environment, they leak a lot of sound (open back).
If you like a ton of bass, these don't have it. The M50x, being a closed backed headphone, probably have more "boomy" bass (however lesser quality bass).
Magni 2 (and can add the Modi 2 later for the full Schiit Stack)
Thanks for making this point. These would be used in a quiet room so seems like perfect setting.
I like the M50x, but I want to get the most out of my listening experience, and this paired with a good amp seems like a great setup.
Vocals are very important for me as well, so not sure how that factors in to the situation
Vocals sound great on the Senns. In general I prefer open cans. You won't be disappointed with these with a good amp, I'm sure
Great thanks for your insight. Just hoping the server wont crash. Good luck to everyone.
Yeah I'm kind of worried about the same thing lol. I should probably start telling people how crappy these are so they don't want them anymore ;) haha
These would be my first pair of "real" headphones, coming from the M50x. Don't think I've ever bought an electronic made in Ireland, pretty cool.
