For open back the Philips SHP9500 are a good buy and wouldn't need an amp to drive (It all depends on your taste though so it's always a good idea to try before you buy)

You should check online for audio stores near you. If you don't have any near you then it's a bit more risky, maybe there might be an audiophile community nearby that is willing to help?! If a store doesn't sell them then you can always speak to the people at the shop for recommendations and try out a few if you can.

You don't *need* them since you already have them in whatever you're listening to music from, but with an external DAC/Amp you can decide what features, power availability, and connectivity options you want. You'll also be able to scale up on quality as you see fit.
