I don't get it... I'm listening to a recording of a headphone. Anything I hear would be colored by what I'm using to listen (ie., I'm using my own HD600's). Or I could listen on my tinny laptop speakers... or my gaming headphones...
What is this type of review supposed to accomplish?
well, you do have a valid point. but still you can compare the sound signature of the two cans. even if it is colored by your current headphones you would def hear which one has more bass extention, treble, soundstage ect
but if I'm listening using something overly bright, then I'm going to hear overly bright. If I'm using something that has no bass, then the cans won't have bass either. This only makes sense if you're using something very neutral or on studio monitors.
