The sad part is we really are at the mercy of Massdrop. I doubt the 650s will ever get this low again, and it's up to Massdrop to make another deal. The people who complain and vow to never use this site again will be here if and when they restock.

samblissardi think its the opposite, i think its up to Senn to see if they want to keep providing these cans at this price point for the next, mmm, lets see 6 months, a new drop every month or so (sellout couple days, couple weeks to full order then week shipping). One wonders how their relationship will be after this debacle, great that it sold out, but not so much how it sold out and the reprocussions this will have. Maybe Senn will say no if MD asks for another drop because of their screwup? maybe MD actually bough 15k units and is gonna milk it a month at a time, who knows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
but with XX lines of audio product, it usually drops again and again and again and again.........and again.....to infinity

OnePunchManYeah, from Sennheiser's point of view, they just fulfilled their production quoto until December. I can see them agreeing to do more and the molds for any Massdrop specific branding has already been created, it's only a matter choosing a colour and going forward. My hope though, is that they stay with the HD6XX and not drop it to a HD5XX. I'll also take a HD8XX though....
In terms of how the sale went, they really couldn't care too greatly on how many people complain. They solds 5000 units in 1.5 hours WITH all these issues. Someone will always complain when you have 14,000 people lined up to buy 5,000 headphones. Yes, the people who were ready to pull the trigger at launch (like me) and didn't get a can (like me) feel cheated and rightfully pissed as hell but that's what happens when you sell cans at 1/2 - 1/3 of retail price.

TheWiseFoolright, but im thinking more of a branding part, like you want these cans, badly, but this XP sours you greatly (rollercoaster of emotions), that will hurt Senn brand, though temporarily, but still.
I think we as an audio community here, pulled for hd8xx but at that price point don't think Senn wanted to create another line thats cheaper that what they sell it for or sale price (do new hd800s even go on sale?)
So if i were Senn, i'd be like MD get ur shit together, and we will continue to do business, otherwise, what prevents Senn from selling these at 199 themselves if they see this huge but temporary demand, so that would mean future roadmap for Senn would mean a new headphone above hd800 since they are charging a cheaper price on their old "flagship" . not like MD is big enough to demand certain things from Senn. just talk aloud though.

if enough branding/hype/awareness/marketing goes out, where else would you buy these if you really really wanted these? and knowing that MD will sell this XXXXXXXXXXXX amount of times, and because its just basically cosmetic differences, there's no where else to get it besides here. that said, this is their 1st of the XX line that was purely cosmetic i think? usually the XX line has custom stuff done (take this out, put this in, etc) so its more unique because Will and his team handle that.

clarkkentI apologize for the delay, Adorama and Amazon have had it for between $250-280, the HD600 were the ones for $200. I recommend checking on Slickdeals and set alerts for things you want, they email you.
