To Massdrop,
If you seriously want to improve things from now on...here is a tip that I posted earlier but a few butthurts trolled the post. 'Limit the warranty to the first owner only'.
Let me explain why to those thick headed people who trolled earlier(not that I want them on this post again).
With no warranty cover the value of the headphones won't be lucrative for reselling, hence would automatically weed out the resellers/profiteers that joined this drop and made hell for every genuine buyer. Even with one headphone for one person policy, it's not difficult to make multiple accounts and buy one from each.
Even though I was able to get one this time but the difficulties that everyone went through could have been minimised.
Over and out!

indi_guyThis is an extremely valid point. I have already seen the headphones for resale on a bunch of different audio forums. Definitely a bit shitty for those of us who actually wanted to buy a personal pair. No way I will be able to afford a pair of these unless they have a massive sale again. Oh well, looks like my koss porta-pros will do for now.

indi_guyWhat should it matter what people do with items after they have used their hand earned cash on them? It's the exact same deal with the "Supreme" brand. Very limited runs of apparel and once they're gone, they never come back. It's called marketing my friend. Supply and Demand.
Also, massdrop themselves deal with the warranty on these headphones so they can't do anything about limiting warranty handover. Sennheiser is still making these on their own in their factories in Ireland. They have a standard and image to uphold. They aren't going to change their warranty policy because a few people couldn't get their hands on some headphones and are jealous of resellers buying multiple pairs.
Just another point of view, not a troll.

BadmuthaI both agree and disagree with that... Those who resell it are really just trying to make a buck. If you want it that bad, you should have came earlier than he did...
That said, especially with the online market, it's not always about who got there first or who wanted it more. It might come down to how many routs you had from your computer, causing you to time out where the other person may have gotten it. Certainly sucks if you were there at 6 PST but still not able to buy it due to system failures. Like I hear stories of concerts being sold out in minutes, only to find out scores of tickets get released on Stubhub. Those situations really suck for people who want to buy something, but can't due to other's greed.
For this drop, I thought Massdrop already did the right thing to limit this to 1 per person already and having warranty limited to first owner only to be unnecessary (unless those resellers were able to buy from multiple accounts)

teebleswasn't necessarily saying it was right to resell but it shouldn't really concern him THAT much. I understand being annoyed but it's just how humans are and as long as humans exist, shitty things like greed will too.
Yeah it's just the joys of the internet. It was tough for me too being in Australia. Ping to the American servers just killed me. But i got there fast and was lucky that i got the paypal payment to go through within 10 minutes of the drop

BadmuthaWhat should it matter? This really just comes down to a question of ethics. Take a situation where you have a single flute in a village, and you have to choose who to give the flute to. Some might give the flute to the poorest person in the town so they can make money playing it. Some might give the flute to a random person in order to ensure the flute was distributed fairly. However, I argue that the flute should be given to the best flute player in the town as they will be able to utilize the flute to its full potential. This aligns with Aristotle's view of ethics. In this same situation, I think the headphones should be available to those who are actually gonna FUCKING USE the headphones and aren't just trying to make a cheap buck while exploiting the Massdrop Business model. If you have any respect for this website and all of the superb deals, you should be mad at people abusing the system as well. Furthermore, you claim this as a "marketing" strategy. I would argue it is quite the contrary. It is extremely fair to say that Massdrop had no idea how popular this drop would be. Their market strategy has always been to provide as much supply as there is demand to the users of massdrop. This is highlighted in the numerous drops I have been a part of where the max number of units available has continuously been updated with more units. I have been part of keycap orders with near 10000 buyers and no limit in sight. Strengthening the argument that Massdrop had no idea how popular this drop would be is the fact that their website crashed. If they were expecting the drop to be this popular, they would have temporarily paid for additional servers in order to handle the extreme user load.
I encourage everyone to ignore sellers of the Sennheiser 6xx.

aust_schIf you had gotten a pair, you wouldn't have cared as much. Resellers will always exist and you just have to get used to it. It's just the way things like this will always be

jATdGM32If you read my response, you would have noticed that I didn't guarantee that ANYONE will play the flute. I simply stated that the best flute player will be able to utilize the flute to its full potential which is undeniably true. This addresses your second question as well. No flawed reasoning here - at least regarding to your poor interpretation of what I said.

BadmuthaVery true. I understand that resellers will always be a thing in markets - doesn't mean I'm not allowed to get upset about it! That is the equivalent of saying "There will always be corruption within governments! Get used to it! It's just the way things will be." There is no way that I will ever get used to it or stop expressing my concerns. You are encouraging a defeatist attitude and I disagree with your approach to the situation altogether. I identify with the ideologies of skepticism and feel that it is best to question the situation at hand and not immediately accept defeat to resellers!

jATdGM32Oh and you realize that my reasoning is derived directly from Aristotle right(not my own). So essentially you just attempted to say that Aristotle has "flawed reasoning". You realize he is widely considered one of the best Philosophers ever. He fucking layed the groundwork for western philosophy. How special do you think you are to deem his reasoning flawed? You are entitled beyond belief.

aust_schresponse of "flawed reasoning" = entitled? Okay. Good for you; you've got some philosophy education.
After your example, you state that you think these headphones should be available to someone who would actually fucking use them. You're only reinforcing my opinion of your flawed application of Aristotle.
