Just received notification that my headphones have shipped. Looking forward to comparing them to my Beyerdynamic T90, Grado RS1i, Hifiman HE 400i, Philips X2, and Sennheiser HD 600's.

KingofTechJunkiesYou pretty much have every headphone i've been considering for the last few years (except T50RP MK3). I just ordered a set of HE 400i's. Just curious what you'd consider your favorite, and how the 400i fits with the others.

LlspoonThey all are excellent headphones in their own right. The Beyerdynamic's and the Grado's are closest in sound to me. They are very detailed more mid and treble centric. Love them. The Sennheiser's are refined, smooth and refined. Would not want to give them up. The X2's sound is just pure fun. Like a good friend. The HE's have a unique and engaging sound. You will love them. As to my favorite. It depends on the type of music and my mood. How's that for evasive. As you can see I suffer from an illness, I am an out of control headphone collector. My wife loves the sound of these headphones but can't understand why so many when they all sound great. I did fail to mention the AKG 7XX 's I am currently burning in using a 1More burn in app. I will reserve my thoughts until they are done cooking. I am considering the Fostex TR70's in the future. Do you think I could be judged mentally ill if I continue down this path?

KingofTechJunkiesThanks for the reply, glad to hear that you think I'll enjoy them! I might grab a pair of X2's as my next set, as I do like the fun sound from time to time. As for your question, if I had the budget i'd be just as "ill" as you ;D

LlspoonYou are picking out some great cans. The X2's are very comfortable with great sound,build and look great as well. I find myself reaching for them quite a bit. Amazon has a $50.00 off coupon on the X2's today which puts them under $200.00. I don't know how long the coupon is in effect. When do you expect the 400i's to arrive?
