Never got a notification and was really looking forward to picking up one of these headsets. It would be nice if they make a special drop where they match the number of requests since these are so strongly requested.
all good the confusion was due to the release of unbox therapy's video.
Are you saying the Unbox Therapy video was wrong in saying that there was a drop for the HD 6XX today?
EDIT: No drop today. Nice of UT to give the HD 6XX some press. The video was a little misleading though.
he did say they didnt relaunch
At least they plan on getting this in again, just not specified when. At least that's good amount of info for us to expect.
I had my hopes high because of UT, feeling sad there is no re-launch :(
At least you can expect for the crappy k7xx again soon. I just got those since I had no other choice. If the hd6xx does drop on a later date I hope I have enough fund and I hope it's my day off. Lol.
the K7XX is far from crappy. The HD6XX might arguably be the better deal at the same price point, but even then, the K7XX still does some things better than the HD6XX. It depends on your audio preferences really. Not sure what you mean by "no other choice" though. There are plenty of other choices outside of massdrop or you know, the choice of not getting anything.
meh, so hard to answer music preference. I tend to listen to a wide variety. I can never say like "I only listen to rap"
I guess I'll settle with the shorter end of the stick. *sigh*
well, I wasn't really referring to genre preferences. Rather more like do you prefer a brighter or warmer sound? Is soundstage important to you? Which frequencies do you prioritize the most (lows, mids, highs), etc that sort of "audio preferences". No one can tell you what sound signature you like except yourself.
At the end of the day, if you listen to a wide variety of genre, no headphones are going to be optimal for everything (that's why people have more than one headphones). That doesn't mean that the K7XX is automatically crappy though. I listen to anything from hip hop to rock to j-pop to classical to stuff like lindsey stirling so I know what you mean when you say you listen to a wide variety. I can enjoy most of these with a K7XX. I do have other headphones that I prefer depending on the genre though. For instance, for music where vocals are the star of the track, I prefer a mid focused sound such as in my HD600. For orchestral music, I'd take the K7XX over the HD600 for the extremely wide soundstage and imaging.
And that's why I need both. lol. I need better quality boom explosions from games too. lol
Why bash the k7xx. It's just a better deal for the 6xx cos they are rare now. If they come out like the k7xx every month or so I bet you would go crappy 6xx.
