So I’m no computer expert, but I got this monitor a few months back to use for productivity with my mac, over the past few weeks I decided to build a gaming pc. When I booted it up for the first time I was disappointed to find that the DisplayPort seems to not work, and when I did eventually connect the pc via hdmi, the maximum refresh rate detected by windows 10 was 60hz. Anyone else have these issues with the dp and refresh rate? How do I fix this?

EvobeatstiHere are a few debugging tips:
  1. did you plug in the hdmi into the motherboard or graphics card
  2. although the monitor should auto change to displayport once you plug it in, I found it sometimes doesn't and stays on hdmi input. Try manually changing it.
  3. did you install graphics card drivers
  4. in the search bar for Windows 10, look up "advanced display settings" -> display adapter properties for Display 1 -> monitor -> screen refresh rate -> see if you can change it to 100hz

MooshMooshMooshHi MooshMooshMoosh
  1. HDMI is currently coming out of the GPU, but I tried both and both ways in the windows system preferences, the max selectable refresh rate was 60hz.
  2. I tried unplugging the HDMI and just running the DP (both out of MB and GPU) and it did not recognize the input. Tried it on my mac too (DP to USB-C) and it didnt recognize any input on that either. I think the DP on the monitor is not functioning at all.
  3. Yes and updated them all, in the GPU settings as well it only detects the monitor as 60hz
  4. Thats what I did and the max available setting in that window is 60hz and the only options are 30hz, 50hz, and 60hz

MooshMooshMooshhdmi doesnt support over 85hz at 1440. you have to use display port.

audio_senpaialso the dp cable that comes with it is usually an older dp cable. i believe you need atleast dp 1.4 for most modern graphic cards

audio_senpaiYes this was all done with a new DP cable that I bought from Amazon. I fixed the issue though! After scrolling through the comments I saw someone had success by unplugging the monitor from power for 30 seconds then plugging it back in. This did the trick and now DP works properly and I'm getting 100hz in my games. Thanks for the help!

Evobeatstiso i visited this page again, to see if there is now a way to connect to mac, i have imac mini but it doeesnt recognize this monitor. My situation is exact opposite of your setup :) i use it for gaming and want to connect to imac. i did purchase mine in 2018 so maybe newer models now cooperate with imacs?
