So in general, the monitor runs hot. I'm pretty sure this is because the power supply is built into the monitor. I've never played with the brightness/contrast settings on the monitor before and noticed that mine came at 100% brightness and 50% contrast. After changing my monitor to 0% brightness and 60% contrast to compensate for the low brightness and using these settings for about a week, I can confirm that the monitor does not run hot anymore. It is not even warm to the touch. Before, the bottom bezel and middle of the screen was hot to the touch, but now it is cool everywhere. TLDR: you may not know but your monitor is at 100% brightness and that is why it runs super hot.
