Along with being totally windproof, the 15d ripstop nylon fabric is breathable to keep you comfortable, never clammy. The DWR finish provides some protection against light precipitation, while the antimicrobial treatment prevents stink from lingering after a long run. Plus, these pants look and feel great: they’re soft to the touch, drape well, and aren’t noisy like many similar garments. Wear them while warming up or during all-day low-intensity activities—with the matching Veil wind shell or on their own. When you’re done, the pants pack down into their hip pocket.

The Veil pants are equipped with only the critical features to keep from weighing you down. We worked with one of the world's foremost mills for high-end performance materials to develop a fabric that’s ultralight, breathable, and durable. It’s performance focused for the trails and good looking enough, with its matte finish, to wear around town. Lightweight YKK zippers at the bottom leg openings increase ventilation when you need it, and reinforced crotch seams prevent blowout as you put in the miles. The hip pocket doubles as a stuff sack for the pants and is large enough to fit a cell phone when you’re wearing them. Finally, a drawcord waistband and elastic trim around the cuffs create a seal when the breeze picks up.
