Anybody know how taxes and import duty work? If I purchase the $65 tier will I pay import duty to the UK on $65 even if I receive a more expensive watch?

sherrinereDon't know about UK, but beware that many countries have rules like "if the price on invoice seems unreasonable, general price of goods will be used for calculation". I guess this is done mainly to combat those fake "gift" declarations for 1 $. I have pulled a few watches through customs for absurd prices (those once-in-a-year legendary deals on WUS like unexpectedly stackable coupon in Black Friday sale or some crazy clearances) with no problems ever, plus you have a proof of what you actually paid to Massdrop. Probably nobody would make any fuss when receiving a $600 MSRP watch for $150, especially for brands that are a serious thing to watch enthusiasts, but they are some obscure random writing on the watch to everyone else not knowing if it is a $50 or $2000 item. But getting those Breitlings (a name that rings a bell even for a layman) for 250 (big price difference) might be interesting, I would be wary of either getting it wrongfully marked as fake watch and confiscated or having the tax calculated from standard local prices, but that could still be worth it and at worst, can be rejected and sent back. Would be interesting to hear from the 250 tier "winners" about how it went :)
