Product Description
Last year, we teamed up with AKG on the K7XX, a Massdrop-configured edition of the highly regarded 65th Anniversary K702. Featuring its predecessor’s legendary sound and build quality—with a bass boost, matched transducers, and improved comfort—the K7XX was a big hit with the Audiophile Community Read More

I'd ask Drop customer service, or buy Brainwavz replacements on Amazon.

Adorama is one of my favorite place and I found a really good deal for AKG K702 for $144.95, perfect for Christmas.

This headphone is deceptively hard to drive. I purchased this headphone because Drop mentioned that it is easy to drive due to their low impedance. Sound coming from this can with fiio e17k was underwhelming. Bass was lacking, Mid sounded so cold and treble was sibilant. It can get loud but loudness does not mean that headphone is being properly amplified. I upgraded the amp with Fiio K5pro which was as equally powerful as Atom. Man, the difference was night and day. All of sudden the sound became warm and fuzzy with more revealing details as if the new amp was puting more bodies across all of frequencies. I was very puzzled that this headphone was harder to drive than HD6xx. I had to turn volume knob around 12 o'clcok on medium gain where 2 o'clock on low gain for HD 6xx. So the information Drop claims that K7xx is easy to drive is inaccurate.

Amount of bass seems sufficient enough with my set set up. However retrieval or decay of bass frequency is not fast enough that bass is not as snappy i want it to be. That is probably why it sounds warm and fuzzy. I only have hd 58x to compare with, but I find it k7xx has more details than hd58x tho. Especially when you listen to classical music, hd58x sounds somewhat congested while k7xx sounds more open and airy.

I didn’t think about the slow bass frequency, I honestly think that’s the really lacking thing about this headphone for me. I have a pair of 6xx, so I rarely use the k7xx for music. Great insight especially the “fuzzy” description haha.

At amazon.de the K712pro is only 200euro (220usd) with free shipping, why the hell would anyone pay 40 extra bucks for a weaker headphone? https://www.amazon.de/AKG-K712-PRO-%C2%B7-Kopfh%C3%B6rer/dp/B00DCXWXEI/ref=sr_1_1?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85%C5%BD%C3%95%C3%91&keywords=akg+k712&qid=1567376094&s=gateway&sr=8-1

Yeah, Drop's EU prices are pretty abysmal. Same with the HD6XX, you can grab the HD600 or HD650 for cheaper on sales.

I don't think this EU version is a worthy buy at $260, when you can buy K712 Pro at around $220 in EU. I think it's a bit better pair.

Don't Buy! Why? AKG K712 PRO (not K702/K7XX) for 199 € available at most major resellers, shipping included. https://geizhals.de/akg-k712-pro-schwarz-a937683.html 260 USD ≅ 230 EUR European 2 yr warranty excluded. Actually covered by AKG I really do love, that Drop is selling that stuff in Europe now, but if they don't deliver a better price, there is no reason choosing them over other resellers. I mean that was the whole point about Massdrop in the first place: offering better prices. Especially in regard, that they put a video in the product description, which states their build quality is shittier. And what's the point about a much higher price than in the states, when production and retail is done in Europe? Edit: Got another thing, get a K7XX-ish for ½ the price: https://geizhals.de/akg-k702-a347478.html

Yeah, and that is if you absolutely want them now. I got my K712 for 170€ in France and the K702 drop to 100€ from time to time. K7XX = K702 65th Anniversary = K702 with K712 pads... for 230€

K702 is not really the same though. They said K7XX is based on the 65th anniversary edition, and those actually sound a lot closer to K712 than 702's.

Is it worth to buy this 7xx edition?. The AKG 702 in Europe (Amazon) is 100€ cheaper...🤔

I don't think so man, the K712 which are a better version can be bought for cheaper than these. If I remember correctly the K7xx are just K702 with K712 pads, $260 is way too expensive for the European market.
