Can you tell me what a surround DSP is? Because i dont know it and i wanna have on of the best gaming headset setup for Rainbow six siege or something else
KommissarJeegerWell, DSP stands for Digital Signal Processor (or Processing). It will either take the 7.1 Surround signal or X, Y, Z coordinates from a computer, and try to process what a sound coming from that direction would sound like by the time it reaches your ears. We only have two ears, but we naturally hear everything in “surround” or 3D as we walk outside in the natural world, so we know this is possible. Audio that was recorded or processed to sound 3D when played back from headphones placed right at our ears is called Binaural Audio. A DSP will take all the audio from Rainbow 6, the people walking or moving kit from in front of you, beside, or behind, and try to make a binaural mix. When you play, it will sound more realistic and 3D, so instinctively you will be better able to tell where sounds are coming from when you can’t see them. 7.1 Surround unfortunately doesn’t know when sounds come from above or below you, so someone upstairs may sound like they’re behind you, but it’s better than stereo, where everything sounds like it is right next to your side, or inside your head! Some games have DSP software built-in, like the Battlefield series or PUBG Mobile. Even with those games, however, I prefer the more realistic and “holographic” processing from Creative Labs and Sennheiser. A Creative G6 or Sennheiser GSX1000 will do great with the K7XX; I have had to check several times that I didn’t have my speakers in front of me turned on by accident.

KommissarJeegerThe H7 is essentially a rebranded Beyerdynamic Custom One Pro (I tried them side by side; adjust the CoP to the lowest bass setting and I couldn’t observe a meaningful difference between the two, tested side by side), so it’s not a bad choice. My wife has basically commandeered mine to use for recording book narrations for Audible. The H7 is a closed-back headset; if you want an open-backed headset, I think the Sennheiser PC37X is a great choice. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/massdrop-x-sennheiser-pc37x-gaming-headset?utm_source=linkshare&referer=Z2JXCA Of the 27 headphones in my house, the PC37X gets the most usage because it is great for gaming, really versatile, and super comfortable. Good padding on the headband and earpads, light weight. The sound quality is the best gaming HEADSET I’ve tried, and it responds to surround processing better with a bigger world than the H7. My Audeze Mobius is also quite a good headset, plus it has a surround DSP built in, head movement tracking, and good quality Bluetooth. However, that costs $399 (US$), it isn’t as light or comfortable as the PC37X, and I prefer to use other surround DSPs (recent release of an app for customizing the Mobius made it better for me, but it still isn’t as comfortable). The Creative BlasterX G6 is the easiest DSP/DAC/Amp combo to recommend right now to people who play PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. It also works on PC, and if you install the drivers and the app you can customize it and save your settings. I also think it’s binaural (Surround) processing is very good without relying on a lot of added echoes, and I like how you can adjust the strength of the surround effect. For PC gamers though, the binaural processing in the GSX1000 is more realistic to my ears. I think it does a really good job of making a sound come from in front of you. It’s also really simple to setup and adjust: it requires no drivers or software, just plug it in and select it from your PC sound settings. There are two or three options for each setting (Surround strength, EQ, Mic Monitoring 🎤 so you can hear yourself if you start shouting, selecting between headphone or speaker output) that are right on the box of the GSX1000, so you don’t have to leave your game and open an app to change something. Both the GSX1000 and G6 will be able to drive the Creative H7, Sennheiser PC37X, or AKG K7XX well. The K7XX is probably the most detailed and presents the biggest world (soundstage), but it is a headphone, while the two headsets (H7 & PC37X) come with really nice microphones. I am sorry I wrote so much English, and I hope it translates well. I am a passionate person, and I hope I helped explain things well enough.

EvshrugI thank you relly much so i will choose the AKG K7xx because as you said it has the biggest sound stage and i think thats the most important thing for gaming plus i will choose the sennheiser GSX100. EvshrugBut there is one more question. Shoud i buy the GSX1200 pro? OR is there no really difference ? And is open Stage THE Best for gaming in a HEadset?
KommissarJeegerThe only practical difference is that the GSX 1200 is made for LAN parties and tournaments. There is a port for wiring together several GSX 1200 to send chat communications without internet or lag. Everything else is exactly the same. I’m not sure if ”open stage” means an ”open-back earcup” or “a large, open sounding soundstage.” I prefer an open backed earcup whenever possible, because heat can escape and my ears are more comfortable, and also open headphones have a higher potential for Fidelity and realism. However, if you are at a tournament/LAN party or anywhere else where you need to block background noise or other sound distractions, then closed headphones are good. Closed headphones also have more pressure when presenting Bass, so often people prefer closed headphones because of the way they can “boom” with bass As far as soundstage goes, I personally like it when the headphones seem to “disappear” and it seems like the sounds aren’t coming from the earcup, soundstage is a trait that works really well with surround processing, and I feel it makes gaming more immersive “like you are really there.” Processing helps “average soundstage sized” headphones seem to have bigger soundstage though, so I think even the “intimate” sounding Sennheiser HD 6XX or HiFiman HE-4XX would be good and work well with games (and surround). Soundstage is nice and often a sign of a higher performing headphone, but it isn’t the most important factor of a headphone. Soundstage size: K7XX>PC37X>>H7 Bass strength: H7> PC37X > K7XX Microphone quality: PC37X > H7 (K7XX does not have a mic, but you can use a lapel mic, ModMic, or a USB mic) Lightest weight: PC37X > K7XX > H7 (heaviest) Comfort (personal opinion) All good, but: PC37X > K7XX > H7

Evshrug^Wait wait hold one so. Which headset on this site is the best Only for gaming do you know that? so but i will buy the sennheiser GSX1000 too. Sry if i be nuts for you
KommissarJeegerThis might seem like nuts to YOU, but I have heard most of the headphones on this site and I don’t feel like there is ONE best gaming headphone or headset. They are all good, so there is no a WRONG choice. They all have different strengths (as I showed above with the comparisons), so you kind of have to decide what matters most to you, what sounds the most attractive based on the info I shared and you learned on your own. It seemed like the AKG K7XX was the most interesting to you. If I didn’t know anything about your tastes, environment, or budget, the easiest for me to recommend would be the Sennheiser PC37X. It does everything well, is priced really well, and it is the best at some things. The K7XX is a good choice too, and technically it is a little bit easier to hear details, but it costs more and the sound tuning is more specialized for “competitive” gaming where the PC37X is more versatile for all types of audio, and you have to consider the added cost of finding your own mic solution.
