Refusal to take responsibility.
Hi, Just thought I would make a note here of your handling of my issues. I ordered a pair of HD6xx headphones and then earlier today recieved the package. I drive to go and get it, as I like in the UK I had to pay import tax and handling fees. These total £47.92. The breakdown being £35.92 in tax and £12 in fees. These taxes were calculated of the shipping label of the box, which marked the shipment as the 6xx headphones of $199 value. Before leaving the parcel depot, I open the box to find a $35 lord of the rings mousepad. So now the problem is not only do I not have the headphones, but you have marked the shipment wrong so I have paid £47.92 fees for the handling of the mousepad. Which would have acrued £0 of fees if marked correctly as it is under £135. I go back to the desk but as I have already paid the fees I am unable to reject the shipment, but as the box said 6xx, there was no way for me to know before opening it. I contact support and they offer me a replacement, which...

I have a wide range of cans that I own or have borrowed in the last 6 months to compare the sound signature of these cans to. My main goal initially was to find the perfect gaming headset and somewhere along the line after reading reviews and watching youtube reviewers talk about other cans and sound signatures I started buying headphones. My gear consist of DAC/AMP= Mayflower Arc AMP = Aune x7s balanced Arriving soon = Darkvoice 336se which will arrive in October. Head gear= HD600 ( which I recently sold but had when I got these initially) HD660s which I will be returning to best buy after 14 days (7 days left) T50rp mkiii with Mayflower MOD (have since sent this out to modhouse) Audio Technica ATH-AD700X HD6xx on the way HD58x on the way I know but why though? I couldn't tell you in all honesty other than I see and read reviews and my brain starts to think I need to hear these for myself to understand what these people are talking about. (rambling done)
For Gaming I am running k7xx through Mayflower Arc currently and it powers these headphones with no issues. These are so neutral that I have nothing much to say about how they sound. There is nothing that really sticks out to me as being "good" or "nice" when I reference the sound. The treble to me is a bit sharp for my ears , however when it comes to gaming the sound-stage is definitely wide and almost to its own detriment. Due to the treble being sharp to my ears I cannot turn the volume up as high as I would like because certain sounds become piercing. Because the sound stage is so wide, shots in the distance or footsteps sound a little muted or low. If i turn up the volume then the treble is rough but if I turn down the volume the footsteps sound distant. I am in a bit of quandary with these cans when it comes to my ear shape and how it receives and interprets sound. Overall I think they are a good pair of cans and definitely not bad for the price. If you are using it for gaming I think they are a solid pair.
Music If I had to compare them to any of the cans I would say they feel like the ad700x as far as sound stage is concerned with the imaging, clarity and neutrality of my hd600's. Mid range sound recessed to me but that is because I have soiled my senses with the hd600s and 660s. Low end to me sound a bit muddy but I am no bass head so I have nothing to really compare them too outside of my t50rps and to my ears those sound tighter in the low end once modded.
I would say these are easy to drive but because I do not fully understand the 1/8 impedance rule, my Aune x7s had a hard time driving these. My x7s was mainly for the balanced output I would be using with my 6xx and my soon to be modded mkiii balanced. As mentioned above the Mayflower Arc power these just fine at high gain 11 o 'clock or low gain at closer to 1' clock. The Aune was powering these at closer to 2' clock verging on 3 o 'clock.
Overall I think they are a good pair of cans and definitely not bad for the price. If you are using it for gaming I think they are a solid pair. For music they are definitely not a bad pair of cans especially for anyone who is looking to venture off into this bottomless pit of audiophelia ( not a word).
