Do you need an amp with these? If so, any recommendations?

Schiit magni 2 and modi 2. It'll run about 200 but it'll really make them sing

These don't NEED an amp, I can drive my K7xx with an iPod Nano. But, depending on your music source, an amp can let you play louder, have deeper bass, reduce distortion on loud passages, etc. You can't tell for sure what difference it will make until you try one, but an amp often improves the sound more than you thought it would.

Check out the FiiO e07k. It's got everything the E1 has plus a DAC and a bunch of extras. For ~$15 extra, you'll be getting a lot more bang for your buck

Maybe, but people are complaining in the comments about poor customer service/issues with from the last drop. Do your own research, but do it fast cause the drop ends in a couple hours. Personally, I really like the FiiO for this reason: DAC/Amp, bass and treble control +-10, 12dB gain, and it comes with cords, cables, carry case, rubber shell, rubber rings for strapping to your phone, rubber feet, and screen protectors. It's the only audiophile purchase I've made that I really felt like I got my moneys worth, but do your own homework. What I like might not be what you like.

I've been trying to do my own homework but I have nothing to base it on. This will be my first good headset. All I know is I'm moderately cheap but will spend the extra dollar where need be. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it and based on your opinion and the homework I did, I'll wait until another amp/dac comes on sale/next drop. Thanks ApolloSharp :)

Getting started was a pain in the ass for me too. If these are your first good headphones, they'll blow your tits off amp or no, but you might consider asking around in reddit.com/r/headphones. In fact, I think there's a stickied thread in there right now specifically about DACs and Amps. Check it out and good luck
EDIT: Nevermind that stickied thread is garbage. Good luck anyways

These won't sound as good as they are designed to unless you use a powerful amp that can push ~900+mW at 32 Ohm. I have the K702 65th Annies (v2 w/K712 pads) and they sound increasingly better as the power increases. I've tried them with AudioEngine D1 (100mW), Fiio E17 (220mW), JDS Labs O2 (613mW), Fiio E09k (900mW), Schiit Asgard 2 (1,000mW), Schiit Lyr 2 (6,000mW). All power ratings listed at 32 Ohm. At around 900mW, the sound doesn't change much with more added power. But below 900mW, it sounds noticeably better and better as you add more power. So something like the E17/E07k is not sufficient to fully drive these headphones to their full potential. A Schiit Magni 2 would be enough.
It's also not a question of driving these loud, I can drive them loud off the headphone jack on my motherboard, but they don't sound as... rich? I didn't realize the K702 Annies actually have decent bass with some punch (not Fostex TH-X00 level bass & punch) until I upgraded from the E17 to the E09k, it was almost a different headphone. The bass and mids improved significantly with the added power.
