Massdrop, I thought, was like coop purchasing but it is deceitful to show MSRP that misrepresents the true value. These are not 649 dollar headphones. More like 3 to 350 dollar phones. Massdrop should be honest with the consumers who spend their money here. Or is this just a retail outlet?
That's true. I got misleadet too when I joined the drop and it makes literally no sence that a "china product" (the K7XX are engeneered in Austria and manufactured in China) has a MSRP as expensivce as the AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition manufactured by AKG itselfe in Austria. I would like to hear from Massdrop from where they take the MSRP and how it's calculated and by who.
If you think MSRP means anything, especially in the headphone world you haven't been around very long....
there are plenty of expensive, awesome quality and highly respectful chinese made iem, cans, daps, dac/amp that have price tag far beyond this k7xx and people are paying for them because they know those stuff are good. akg though probably didn't but could have made the msrp of k7xx as high as k702. if you can't get over the fact that a chinese made product can has the same or even higher price tag as an european one you should not spend more money on hifi products.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that China can't produce quality products. Not at all, but I was pretty confused at the beginning with the MSRP.
